Filming During COVID-19

During the current global pandemic, any working operations can pose many issues related to the spread of COVID-19. At Ffocws Media we are committed to playing our part in helping reduce the spread of the virus as much as possible.

To do this, we take extra care when we get out of the office to produce clients content as keeping you, your staff and our crew safe is the absolute number one priority.

This is why we are writing an open blog to inform you about the precautions we have been taking and will be taking in the foreseeable future on all of our video shoots.

Masks

Wearing masks en masse is proven to slow the spread of COVID-19 and every member of our crew is required to wear a face covering at all times when on set. In case a crew members mask is damaged or lost we will be carrying spare N95 rated masks with us at all times as to make sure no one is without one. If you wish to find out more about the use of masks, we recommend you read through the UK Governments advise on wearing face coverings.

Sanitising

Before and after every shoot we sanitise all of our equipment with Hybrisan sanitiser to ensure no bacteria or viruses are carried on the equipment wither to or from set.

Hybrisan is rated as a Log 6 kill product, which means it kills 99.9999% of bacteria and viruses that it comes into contact with. Which means there is a very small chance of any viruses remaining on our equipment.

Hybrisan is also an alcohol free product meaning that it will not irritate skin as well as not damage any equipment it comes into contact with (e.g. cables).

We also use Hybrisan's gel products for hand sanitising.

We will always carry at least one bottle of spray and one bottle of gel with us to ensure all those involved in the project can thoroughly sanitise their hands or equipment.

Social Distancing

The easiest way to prevent to spread of COVID-19 is to not come into contact with anyone. Therefore, when on set we always try to keep to the government recommended 2 metres for social distancing as best as possible at all times.

We also try to stick to the 'one person to one piece of equipment' rule at all times.

Certification

During 2020, I took the time to take the Safe Sets International course for COVID-19 safety when working on a film set to make sure I was up to date with the globally advised precautions to take when working on film and video productions.

We hope that by providing this certificate all of our clients and colleagues understand that they will be stepping onto a professional set that will be a safe environment to work in.

We encourage all those involved in film and video production to take this certification too.

Other Precautions

Along with these precautions we also adhere to the following:

- No unnecessary contact with equipment from anyone outside of the crew.

- Any contact with anyone infected/ suspected infected with COVID-19 will be reported and the person making contact will not be allowed on set.

- Anyone showing any symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed on set.

All of our ongoing shoots are subject to postponement if we come into contact with the virus. We have had to previously do so and we do not take any risks with coming into contact with the virus. There are no exceptions to this.

These precautions are subject to change as per the latest UK and Welsh government guidelines.
